Congratulations of RAEC with the 20th anniversary of the AVS-electro company

On October 6th, 2017 in Voronezh Spartacus cinema and the Empire grand cafe the celebration of the 20th anniversary of AVS-Electro took place.

The festive evening was attended by the owners and top managers of more than forty leading suppliers of electrical equipment and lighting, as well as the managers of companies-members of the Russian Association of electrotechnical companies (RAEC).

The festive evening started from a video retrospective of the past 20 years. The hosts of the evening invited the audience to remember the past, to summit and then to direct their mind’s eye to the future. Leaders of the Russian electrical engineering companies based in the ‘dashing 90s’ shared their memories of companies’ first steps, first accomplishments and successes, views on the industry. It turned out, they all have a lot in common: they started a business from scratch, engaged in Commerce and did not consider the electrics. It had everything: rises and failures, risk, experiments and unexpected success. All leaders of the modern electrotechnical market such as AVS-electro had managed to find their way and build a successful company in just two decades, while similar businesses in Europe and America long ago had crossed its fifty years mark.

As noted by Andrew Sukhoverkhov, ‘The Whole electrical business in Russia has been created over the last 20-25 years. We will always remember that time, and it will never happen again. Everything else will be different.’ What will be the next era, how to prepare one’s own business for the challenges of the future, how technological progress and information technology will change our lives – these are the topics to which further part of the program was devoted.

Three leading Russian experts spoke before the guests, and each of them consistently revealed one aspect of the transformation, on the threshold of which we stand.

Alexander Chulok, Deputy Director of the foresight center of the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, Higher School of Economics, spoke about the foresight approach to predicting the future and cited research directions in the development of future technologies. He stressed the importance and need in investing in innovation and human capital for the ‘survival’ of businesses, as changes in the macro environment caused by the development of technology is inevitable, rapid and has already begun: ‘A Technological singularity is not a question of the future, it happened in the past.’

The theme was continued by Vladimir Pirozhkov, the Director general of the KINETICS Centre for industrial design and innovation, the Director general of the engineering center of prototyping of high complexity at the National University of Science and Technology. Vladimir showed global trends of 2050, the challenges of the future: global competition, the transition to 6th techno-economic paradigm, battle for resources, the change of the global power centers. He also demonstrated what the difference between innovation and modernization is and the only ability for a business to be a market leader in the future – to create innovative and desirable product for the user. Vladimir gave the audience the opportunity to see the thesis ‘the future is now’ in action, showing the number of projects of the prototyping center: 3d transport, virtual interactive control, interactive virtual reality, intelligent materials, microbots, IT genetics and much more. In the final speech Pirozhkov stressed that the biggest potential is in the development of human capital and collaboration with young inventors and designers.

Evgeniya Shamis, founder and CEO of Sherpa S Pro, expert the theory of generations continued previous thesis and shared with the audience features and regularities of behavior, communication and interaction of different generations. Evgeniya spoke about the effective management practices of the younger members of the team, generation Y. After all, the ability to interact with a new generation of employees and consumers, as they differ significantly from the founders of existing businesses, is one of the competitiveness factors in the future.

After thanking the speakers for their vivid and compelling performances, the hosts of the evening went to the most enjoyable part – the awarding of suppliers. And, continuing the theme of the event, the organizers broke tradition in rewarding for past services and celebrated new achievements of their main partners and illustrated it with the scenes from blockbusters.

Well-deserved thanks and awards under the applause were given to the heads of the most important partners of AVS-Electro: Alexis Konan, Director general in Russia and CIS of Legrand Group; Dmitry Kurpekov, vice President of the Retail division of Schneider Electric; Dmitry Nalogin, President of the Lighting Technologies company; Sergey Kuznetsov, sales Director of REC Prismian; Alexei Stepashin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IEK and Mikhail Petrov, President of IEK; Michael Krupyshev, CEO of JazzWay and Igor Brusilovsky, head of the Light division of the JazzWay company; Dmitry Kolpashnikov, Director general of DKС.
